WWE 2K23 officially enters the list of upcoming 2K games for 2023 as per Take-Two’s recent reports
Take-Two recently unveiled the list of its upcoming 2K games and the latest financial report also includes official confirmation for WWE 2K23. For years, Take-Two Interactive2K Sports has published WWE video games.
In the report, there’s a “future line-up” section for the fiscal year of 2023 which includes WWE 2K23. The “fiscal year” doesn’t mean that fans will have to wait until 2023 to receive the next rendition in the WWE 2K series as the federal government designates the start of “fiscal 2023” on October 1, 2022
Wrestling Business writer Brandon Thurston also took to Twitter and shared the news of WWE 2K23 in the list of upcoming 2K games.
It is to be noted that Take-Two’s financial report didn’t list any platforms for WWE 2K23 and this could be a sign that the publisher is still quite confused about the direction of the game. While the PS4 and Xbox One have massive install bases, making WWE 2K23 with the PS5 and Xbox Series X in mind could result in a more impressive product.
As per reports WWE was frustrated with the relationship it had with Take-Two after the release of WWE 2K20 which was massively criticized by the fans mainly due to its content, glitches and graphics. 2022 was considered a “make or break year” for Take-Two and 2K.
A report from Fightful stated that WWE was rumored to be having talks with EA in regards to making a new publishing partnership for its games. But WWE 2K22 came back strongly as it got overall positive reviews from the fans and critics as well.
WWE 2K Games simplified its mechanics and made the game more accessible. K22 also reintroduced the ever-popular GM mode to the WWE franchise and welcomed a feature called “MyFaction” which allows users to create legendary wrestlers like the NWO and Degeneration-X.
This time the competition for WWE will be tougher as later this year AEW will also be releasing its first AEW game “AEW: Fight Forever,” WWE 2K23 is in development.
