Euphoria Season 2 Release Date

Euphoria returned for its full second season this year following its inaugural success in 2019 and two special episodes released in December and January of that year. Starring Zendaya and Hunter Schafer as leads, Euphoria tackles issues such as love, drugs and addiction in its compelling drama format.

Euphoria Season 2 Release Date

On January 9, 2022, HBO and HBO Max brought back this provocative and provocative show for an eight-episode season of sexualized drama, “Oprah and Friends”.

Rue (Zendaya)

Euphoria was an award-winning drama that charmed audiences this summer and provoked them to ask themselves the question “Is Gen-Z OK?” due to its young ensemble cast and Sam Levinson’s unflinching, unsentimental portrayal of youth culture, addiction and trauma. Emmy winner Zendaya played Rue Bennett who struggles with both addiction and depression on this series.

Season two begins as Bennett experiences a relapse after Jules decides to leave, confiding in her therapist about considering hormone therapy. Also featured in Season two are Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Maude Apatow, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie and Javon Walton.

Euphoria’s dark exploration of teenage life, drugs, sex and identity won widespread acclaim from viewers and critics alike. Now returning for another eight-episode season on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic (via NOW TV) in the UK.

Emmy winner Zendaya returns as Rue, joined by Sydney Sweeney (Cassie), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Angus Cloud (Fezco) and Alexa Demie (Maddy). Additionally Storm Reid, Nika King and Austin Abrams make appearances. This show tackles transgender issues in a mature manner, without resorting to stereotypes.

Rue was left reeling after Jules left her alone on a train platform at the conclusion of season one and fans can expect more shocking scenes and betrayals in this upcoming series.

Special episodes that aired between December 2020 and January 2021 provided some intriguing plotlines to be explored this year, such as Jules’s suppressed homosexuality and Kat’s prostitution online. The series will air weekly in the UK via Sky Atlantic/NOW while its US premiere date will be 9 January 2022; its season will consist of eight episodes, inspired by an Israeli miniseries created by Ron Leshem & Daphna Levin.

Lexi (Maude Apatow)

Euphoria, the angsty HBO teen drama starring Zendaya, premiered in June 2019 and quickly earned her an Emmy nomination. This series — also featuring her in Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Greatest Showman and Dune — follows a group of high schoolers attempting to push social boundaries.

Euphoria season 2 picks up where its predecessor left off with Rue battling addiction, drug dealing mafiasos, and more troubling scenes. Sydney Sweeney reprises her role as Cassie while Jacob Elordi plays Nate; Barbie Ferreira serves as Kat; Alexa Demie plays Maddy; Angus Cloud plays Fezco; Nika King takes the place of Leslie while Storm Reid fills Gia’s shoes.

Kat (Barbie Ferreira)

Euphoria returned with new episodes this year after airing two one-hour specials to address its COVID-19 suspension, including ones focused on Kat Hernandez and Jules Vaughn.

Barbie Ferreira made a sudden and unexpected entrance into the cast in 2019, but she’s set to return for season 2. Along with Zendaya and other cast members, the actress will tackle new topics including drugs and sexuality. Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Sydney Sweeney and Alexa Demie will also return in season 2.
