The British No. 2 Dan Evans will take on the world No. 69 Constant Lestienne in the round of 16 of the European Open on Wednesday.

The world No. 26 has made it to three semi-finals this year. He got off to a solid start, reaching the semi-finals in Sydnet. He battled indifferent form and managed to reach the semi-finals in Montreal and the San Diego Open.

The 32-year-old came into the European Open on the back of an exit in the round of 16 of the Japan Open. In the round of 32 of the European Open, Evans was up against Tallon Griekspoor. The veteran made light work of the Dutch No. 2, picking up a win in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

Constant Lestienne

The French tennis pro reached his first career ATP Tour semifinal at the Tel Aviv Open with impressive wins against Adrian Mannarino, Emil Ruusuvuori, and Maxime Cressy. His run was ended by the 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic in straight sets.

The 30-year-old played the Gijon Open before coming to Antwerp. He was ousted in the round of 16 by compatriot Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets 6-4, 6-2. In the round of 32 of the European Open, Lestienne picked up a relatively comfortable win against Jesper De Jong in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
