The world No. 19 Diego Schwartzman faces the world No. 58, David Goffin, in the round of 16 of the European Open on Thursday.

The 30-year-old made it to the finals of the Argentina Open and the Rio Open. He also reached the French Open quarterfinals before being ousted by Novak Djokovic. The Argentine tennis pro also made it to the semi-finals at the Cordoba Open and the Barcelona Open, where he lost to Alejandro Tabilo and Pablo Carreno Busta respectively. He also reached the Swedish Open quarter-finals where he once again went down to Carreno Busta.

Schwartzman most recently took part in the Tel Aviv Open. After receiving a first-round bye, he went down to Arthur Rinderknech in three sets in the round of 16. Schwartzman will hope to go deep in Antwerp as his search for a title in 2022 continues.

David Goffin

The experienced Belgian began the year on a good note as he reached the quarter-finals in Sydney. Goffin won the title in Grand Prix Hassan II and made it to his second Wimbledon quarterfinal but other than these results, there is not much to write home about.

The 31-year-old was up against the 17-year-old Gilles Arnaud Bailly. The youngster gave a solid account of himself as Goffin had to work very hard and use all his experience to eventually win the match in three sets 7-6 (9-7), 5-7, 6-4.

Head-to-Head and Prediction

The head-to-head scoreline currently stands at 4-1 in favor of David Goffin. In their last meeting at the 2018 Laver Cup, the Belgian got the win 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.

Prediction: David Goffin to win in three sets.
