The in-form Felix Auger-Aliassime takes on the experienced Frenchman Richard Gasquet in the semi-finals of the European Open on Saturday.

After dominating his way to winning the title at the Firenze Open, Felix Auger-Aliassime has continued his blistering form in Antwerp.

The second seed began his campaign in the European Open against Manuel Guinard in the round of 16. Auger-Aliassime won the match comprehensive in straight sets 6-3, 6-3. The Canadian sensation squared off against the British No. 2 Dan Evans in the quarter-finals. Auger-Aliassime gave us an insight into his determination and vigor as he made a strong comeback after dropping the first set to eventually win the match 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.

Richard Gasquet

The 36-year-old came into the tournament on the back of a disappointing first-round exit at the Firenze Open. He lost to Brandon Nakashima in straight sets. However, at the European Open, the experienced campaigner has emphatically turned things around en route to reaching his second tour-level semifinal in 2022.

In the opening match of the European Open, Gasquet and 3-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka put on a show. Gasquet edged the Swiss legend after coming back from a set down. In the round of 16, Gasquet defeated another Swiss tennis pro – Dominic Stephan Stricker. The match ended 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 in favor of the world No.82. In the quarter-finals, Gasquet got the better of David Goffin in straight sets 6-2, 7-6 (8-6).
