Dusan Tadic was the architect of Ajax’s sensational victory at Real Madrid in the Champions League a couple of weeks ago.
Ajax stunned Real Madrid by beating them 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu, sealing a 5-3 aggregate victory and eliminating the holders in the round of 16. And Dusan Tadic was one of the chief destroyers of the Spanish club.
The Serbian winger, 30, joined Ajax last summer from a Southampton side that had only managed to avoid relegation by three points. Given the player’s age and the club’s model for producing gems from their academy and nurturing youth talents made the signing a baffling one.
Less than a season in and the move has worked wonders, with Dusan Tadic already hammering 28 goals and supplying 16 assists in 41 games across all competitions for the Dutch side. That has seen the Serbian emerge as a shocking transfer target for Manchester City, as per the Mundo Deportivo.
The report further claims Tadic’s exit clause could be set at €30 million in the summer. That said, Everton should look to beat Manchester City for the Ajax ace’s signature ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
Tadic was always regarded as a mixed bag during his time at Southampton, largely due to the lack of consistency in his performances in the Premier League. But the Serbian has finally found his feet after his move to the Netherlands, bagging 28 goals in all competitions with still a couple of months left for the season to end.
Everton are in dire need of goal-scorers next season, with strikers Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin failing to produce the goods on a regular basis. Richarlison was brought in by paying a lot of money to Watford last summer but after a bright start, even the Brazilian has faded.
If Marco Silva wants to challenge the ‘Big Six’ in the Premier League, he should add a couple of prolific goal-scorers to his squad.

Tadic should be one of them as the Serbian international will give the Toffees’ attack movement, flair, pace and a different dimension. He has also impressed with his link-up play at Ajax this season, combining extremely well with the likes of Hakim Ziyech, David Neres and Frenkie De Jong.
Therefore, the addition of Tadic can certainly prove beneficial for a goal-shy side like Everton. Despite the ex-Southampton attacker currently 30 and is nearing the final phase of his career, the Toffees shouldn’t hesitate to make his signing one of the priorities over the summer transfer window.
