Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje is one of the biggest fights in the history of the UFC
MMA Dominance head Ali Abdelaziz was on the Schmozone podcast and one of the biggest stories in the world of the UFC is Justin Gaethje vs Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The pair are managed by Abdelaziz’s management company and they will fight for the undisputed Lightweight title at UFC 254.
Khabib is 28-0 in his MMA career and holds the Lightweight title. Gaethje, for his part, is the interim champion after he defeated Tony Ferguson in spectacular fashion.
The pair meeting is one of the most anticipated clashes in the UFC and Abdelaziz opened up on this.
“All the UFC fighters have a dream to become a champion. There are a lot of scenarios where a lot of guys got close to winning the title and then got stopped and they lost.
“But who am I to stop someone like Marlon or Henry or Gaethje to get a title shot.”
The Egyptian was speaking about Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes, and how the pair ate dinner with him before their title bout at UFC 238.
Abdelaziz was quick to bring out how great the two rivals are. While Gaethje and Khabib will be on opposite sides of the Octagon at UFC 254, they have worked together in the past:
“Stylistically, Gaethje and Khabib are amazing people. They are great people. When Marlon fought Henry I was at home. I was not going to go to the winner and say congratulations and then go to the loser.”
Abdelaziz claimed he made money but was a fan on that night, and said it was the same thing between Khabib and Gaethje.
“Khabib is my brother. I love him to death. I managed Justin from the start.”
The MMA agent added that when Khabib was to fight in Florida he brought up Gaethje to help cut weight.
“It’s a family but some of these guys will have to fight.”
Khabib vs Gaethje could be one of the greatest fights in the history of the UFC but Abdelaziz would be watching it as a fan.
The match is too close to call and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.
