Andre Ewell wants the BMF belt and called out Jorge Masvidal and a host of UFC stars

UFC star Andre Ewell was the latest guest on the Blood, Sweat and Tears podcast with Jer Wilson hosting him.

The 32-year-old is coming off an impressive win over Jonathan Martinez but highlighted that he fought that match with a broken arm.

He took a kick from Martinez in the first 10 seconds but continued soldiering on. The 32-year-old was vindicated with the result as he got the win and next faces Irwin Rivera on 19 September.

While Ewell believed this was a great match-up for him and his opponent, the 32-year-old opened up that Roy Jones was one reason he got into boxing and MMA. Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee were also inspirations for the American and he added that he was always getting into fights.

His mother pushed him into MMA and the rest, as they say, is history.

Want to fight everyone

The Bantamweight star was then told about the rankings and how Gilbert Burns climbed up the board and then got a title shot from almost nowhere.

Burns has been excellent since moving to the Welterweight division and he next faces Kamaru Usman for the title.

While Ewell had plans to win gold, he also had his eyes on other divisions and their stars too:

“I was a great fighter, always fought a lot. Always getting into fights. Always wanted to be a hero, grew

“Everybody wants to be ranked but I want to take it a lot further. I want to get into the top 15, then the eight/five, and kinda push into the next round.

“Come back and win the title. Be fit and ready for the 45s and then I want to take over the 55s.

“I want a shot at the BMF belt, I want the shot at the 55 belt, the 45, the 35. The way my body is built, I am actually a perfect specimen for all the weight classes.”

Ewell added that he was open to fighting Jorge Masvidal and Mike Perry, basically anyone who was willing to start a brawl.

The 32-year-old has a tough fight ahead of him though, and he was training hard to get another win. Ewell has a record of 16 wins and six losses in his MMA career, and it will be interesting to see how he does in his next fight.
