Brandon Royval faces Brandon Moreno in his next fight and shared a lot of thoughts regarding the battle
Brandon ‘Raw Dawg’ Royval is set to appear at UFC 255 with his next fight against Brandon Moreno.
The 28-year-old currently holds a 12-4 MMA record and his last fight was an incredible one. Royval fought Kai Kara-France at UFC 253 and it featured just around six-minutes of fighting but it was non-stop action.
Kara-France and Royval threw and connect several punches before the 28-year-old won via Guillotine choke.
Royval won the Fight of the Night award and $50,000 along with it. However, while speaking to Jer Wilson, he explained why this award wasn’t the one he wanted:
“I don’t want to have Fight of the Night at all. I am trying to get Performance of the Night. I want $50,000 bucks man, that’s all, I really do want that for sure. Don’t get me wrong.
“I am not looking to get into a war with this m************, I am trying to beat his ass, I am trying to make a statement.
“Not looking to go three rounds with him and take a year off for life and people are wondering why I am stuttering for the next year and a half.”
While Royval didn’t make a prediction for his next fight, he wanted it to end quickly. Wilson implied that Royval could get a title shot next but the UFC star believed Cody Garbrandt was the next rival for the champion, Deiveson Figueiredo.
However, the 28-year-old believed he had to entertain the fans more if he keeps on winning and hopes to get a title shot:
“If I go out there and put on a show, how can they deny that? That being said, I need to try to sell myself, be exciting and make a show because people need to be able to watch this, want buy this, pay like on PPV and all that stuff. All that kinda depends on how my performance goes.”
Royval added that Nick Diaz was a fighter that he got compared with too, and it will be interesting to see how UFC 255 goes for him.
Royval already picked up $50,000 extra in his last outing and he could be doing that against at UFC 255.
