Brandon Royval picked up a shoulder injury in his last fight and is expected to be out for a long time

Brandon Royval was the latest guest on WERMMA as he spoke about his UFC journey and how his shoulder injury is expected to keep him out for a long time.

The 28-year-old came into his fight against Brandon Moreno in a four-fight win streak. Royval was also ranked in the top 10 coming into the fight and that was quite a move up for him.

The 28-year-old was only two UFC fights old before facing Moreno but ended up on the losing side. He injured his shoulder during the match and that led to a TKO loss. Royval was asked about his injury and Royval explained that he is set to undergo surgery too:

“We are getting there. I think the process is a surgery in the next couple of weeks. It is going to be a long surgery, a labrum surgery.

“Labrum surgeries are a pain in the a** to heal. I have a torn labrum and I fractured like a few bones in my shoulder.”

Out for half a year

Royval was also asked how long he was expected to be out for and he claimed that it was going to be for half a year.

“It will be like a six-month recovery so, it’s not too long but it is long enough to suck, you know.”

The Factory X star got a lot of people squeamish after the fight against Moreno. He popped his shoulder back in place and that could have led to more injury issues.

Royval also screamed when he injured his shoulder and revealed that he had surgery on his left shoulder in the past but his right would go under the knife now.

Royval also claimed that he was a little unhappy with how his year had ended due to the injury. However, he was happy to have gotten three UFC fights in the year and even being ranked come the end of the year.
