Bryan Barberena is coming off an impressive win but doesn’t have a rival for his next UFC fight

American UFC star Bryan Barberena was the latest guest on the WERMMA podcast. The 31-year-old was coming off a two-fight losing streak but defeated Anthony Ivy last.

This was Barberena’s first fight in 15 months and he was coming back from a back injury. However, the 31-year-old confirmed he had no problems with his back during and after the fight, and that there wasn’t any ring rust too.

It was an impressive performance from Barberena as he moved up to 15-7 in his MMA career. While the 31-year-old wanted to fight at least twice more before the end of the year, he didn’t have a rival in mind.

Barberena had earlier spoken about being lucky to get this Ivy fight, and he was willing to take on anybody:

“I don’t really have anybody in mind. Obviously, there are some people I’d like to fight down the road but I don’t feel yet that I am in a position to ask for anybody.

“I didn’t feel I was in a position to ask for somebody in my return fight. Whoever they wanted to give me, that was fine and I still feel the same way.

“I am down to fight whoever. Honestly, it doesn’t matter who the name is. When I get a choice and they ask me who am I interested in fighting maybe I will have some names lined up but as of right now, whoever, they want to line me up with.”

A pizza tradition

The American also shared a bit of a great tradition he has with his wife, Diana. While the pair have a great farm to run outside of the UFC, they share a pizza after every fight:

“We get pizza, for the whole family. Me and my wife usually take a picture eating pizza.

“We did it this time just because we were separated and stuff but we got pizza and had it together already and just didn’t get a picture this time.”

The 31-year-old also spoke about his Bam Fam Farm and how he got it all started. The American also spoke about a special podcast he started with his wife, and wanted to end the year with a win-streak going.

He got one win after beating Ivy and it will be interesting to see if he is called up again in the next three months or so.
