Carlor Diego Ferreira takes on Drew Dober next but had another UFC star on his mind
Brazilian MMA star Carlos Diego Ferreira opened up on his career so far while speaking exclusively to the Blood, Sweat and Tears podcast.
The 35-year-old is happily settled in South Texas and claimed he loved it there. Ferreira added that the people in the region helped him a lot and didn’t plan to leave.
He also loved the food there and found it difficult to resists some of the Texas dishes. While the Brazilian trained in his native, Ferreira claimed getting to the UFC was never his goal.
“I never planned to get into UFC, it was never my goal.”
It does seem to be a bit of a crazy statement given that he is 17-2 in his MMA career and is ranked eighth in his division.
Ferreira is on a six-fight win streak and faces Drew Dober next. However, there was another star on his mind.
The 35-year-old was asked who he wanted to fight if he won against Dober, and the Brazilian named Paul Felder:
“I was looking at Paul Felder, one of those guys who don’t fight so much. But, I don’t care, for me it is like stay busy and be fighting and competing.
“I don’t care much about ranking. I am happy to fight and excited too.”

Time for a good show
Ferreira was still concentrating on his fight against Dober and claimed the battle would be a good one.
He might have only gotten into MMA at the age of 28 but he started training in Jiu-jitsu at the age of 10 in Brazil.
The Brazilian had an incredible answer when asked about what his legacy in fighting would be. Rather than speaking about being the champion or the meanest man or making money, he just wanted to be a nice guy.
“To be a nice guy. I don’t want to be what people want to be now.
“I know projecting money but money is not everything, I learned that. I just want to be a nice guy.”
Ferreira faces Dober on 7 November and this could be one of the best fights on the card. Nice guy Ferreira seems to be on the path to greatness but his humble nature seems to be the most striking feature of the 35-year-old.
The Lightweight star also had some predictions for future fights. He backed Khabib Nurmagomedov to beat Justin Gaethje as he was a huge fan of the Russian.
Ferreira also claimed that the Korean Zombie and Cody Garbrandt to also win their respective fights.
