Hannah Goldy also went on to say she loves watching Robert Whittaker clash
UFC star Hannah Goldy was the latest guest on the Casual Fanboy MMA podcast and she spoke on several topics.
The 28-year-old is currently nursing a shoulder injury and is hopeful of a recovery soon. She was to fight Loma Lookboonmee in February, however, that clash was cancelled.
She claimed that another clash was to take place in August, but her shoulder hadn’t healed yet.
However, she seems to be one of the most bubbly and likeable characters in the UFC. Goldy claimed she didn’t need to hate people to fight and she was friends with most of her rivals.
The 28-year-old also named one UFC star she wanted to copy her game around. Goldy loved technical fights and not brawls, and spoke about how avoiding damage and still winning fights was great. Dominick Cruz was the one star who she named as someone who did this well, and hoped to emulate him:
“Dominick Cruz was so good at doing damage but not taking damage. Honestly, that is the kind of fighter that I want to be.”
She believed that it would be better for stars to come out of a fight with a win and be able to celebrate the next day with the family, rather than going under the knife.

Loved Till vs Whittaker
Speaking of technical fights, Goldy was asked which fight she liked most from the Darren Till vs Robert Whittaker card.
The UFC star named the main event from that evening, and went on to praise Whittaker too:
“Robert Whittaker is my favourite. I thought it was such a technical scrap. I loved that fight, I did think that Whittaker looked a little weird in the first round and a half.
“But after that, I think that elbow that Till hit him with in the first round kind of rocked him a little bit. And I think it took him a minute to get his bearings. But after that, he looked good.”
She also spoke about the tactics from Till where he was waiting for one big hit and not trying to chip away at Whittaker.
“I just think that Till is so big and long that is kind of like his fighting style. He likes to sit back and like counter but Whittaker is just hard to counter. He has weird combinations coming in, stuff that people don’t throw and he covers so much distance.”
She added that Whittaker covered a lot of ground quickly and it was difficult to counter him. However, she also claimed that Till respected Whittaker a lot and the Aussie was just a little step better above the British star.
Goldy spoke about technical fights but ended the interview speaking more about ice cream and how much she loved Ben and Jerry’s.
The 28-year-old also shared what she would do if she faced Joanna Jedrzejczyk and that further highlighted her bubbly character in and out of the Octagon.
