Khabib Nurmagomedov wants to face Georges St-Pierre in the future and Henry Cejudo shared his prediction for the same
Henry Cejudo might have retired from the UFC but he is still keen on fighting Alexander Volkanovski and become champion again.
However, he has had issues with how much UFC are willing to pay him. Triple C was on the Schmozone podcast and gave his predictions for some big fights.
He backed Colby Covington to get the better of Tyron Woodley and couldn’t wait for Justin Gaethje vs Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“Justin Gaethje is ready as much as Khabib is too. This fight is special because yesterday even President Donald Trump brought it up.”
The Schmo then added that Trump thought that Khabib would get knocked out by Gaethje. However, Cejudo believed that this added more pressure on Gaethje:
“That is what I am saying, when you have the pressure of the President, the president is counting on you. But on the other side, you have Khabib’s father, who recently passed away and his goal and dream was always to make Khabib go 30-0.
“It is a beautiful storyline, I don’t talk to Khabib as much as I do to Justin but I think Justin has got the eye of the tiger. I think he has learned a lot from the Poirier fight.”
GSP vs Khabib
The Russian has spoken about facing Georges St-Pierre in his 30th fight, and that could take place.
While GSP is a legend in the UFC, this would be his second return to the Octagon. While the Canadian is one of the greatest ever to have fought in MMA, Cejudo believed Khabib could defeat GSP:
“If he [GSP] makes 155, Khabib is going to hurt him. I think he knows that. I think he wants a big fight and they should fight.
“Personally, I think Khabib will beat him at 170.”
That would be an amazing fight between two of the best. However, his legacy could be hurt if he makes a second return to the UFC.
This would be a big money fight and could be one of the biggest UFC events ever, and it will be interesting to see if this takes place.
For now, Khabib has to worry about Gaethje taking his belt. Many believe the American has the skills to defeat the 28-0 Khabib, and the pair face off at UFC 254.
