Impa Kasanganay is set to feature on Dana White’s Contender Series again
LFA star Impa Kasanganay is preparing hard for his appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series.
The 26-year-old had won his last clash on the show but wasn’t handed a contract. Instead of being dejected over this, Kasanganay continued working hard and is on a mission to become the best.
Kasanganay also had a packed start to his professional career with six fights in the span of eight months or so.
He was asked if this was his plan of action once he got into the UFC, and Kasanganay confirmed that:
“I’d love to. Once I get this contract on the 11th,, you can keep me in Vegas”
He also claimed he would fight before the Contender series and repeated how much he loved to fight.
“After the contender series, maybe three or four times in the UFC before the end of the year, that would be awesome.”
Kasanganay was told about Khamzat Chimaev winning two fights in 10 days, and the UFC hopeful claimed he could do more than the Swede:
“Hey, I’ll do it. I will give you three or four wins in 10 days. I’ll fight back to back to back.”
The 26-year-old added that Khamzat was doing pretty well in the UFC but was open to facing him in the Middleweight division too:
“I’ll fight him.”
“I like it, I like it, maybe we will get that fight.”
The ideal fight
Kasanganay came out as a confident Middleweight looking to make his mark in the MMA world. He was keen on getting into the Octagon and claimed that he was training hard and even took inspiration from Dragon Ball Z at one point.
While Kasanganay named some of the biggest names in the Middleweight division as some he would want to fight, he was asked to name some possible rivals too.
The 26-year-old then named a pair of stars but added that he was willing to face anyone:
“Kevin Holland, he has been doing pretty well. That’d be fun. I like [Edmen] Shahbazyan or any of those guys really.
“Any guy who is just ready to fight, that’s how I look at it.”
Kasanganay named Marvin Vettori as another star he wanted to take on and claimed he was willing to fight someone like Darren Till next week too.
The 26-year-old certainly has some big targets in the UFC and it will be interesting to see what happens when he is up in the Contender Series.
