Justin Jaynes also believed that Clay Guida should be in the UFC Hall of Fame
UFC star Justin Jaynes might have lost his last clash but the American isn’t all that upset with the result.
The 31-year-old was a little disappointed to lose to Gavin Tucker in his second UFC outing. However, he was still pleased that it was an entertaining fight and gave the fans something to cheer about.
While the American has healed up from his injuries from that clash, he was asked during an interview by WERMMA who he wanted to fight next.
The 31-year-old wanted to fight a veteran of the Octagon, and was hopeful of it taking place at Fight Island:
“I was talking to Jason, my manager, and if we go to Fight Island, it would be an honour to fight Clay Guida right now.
“A legend of the sport, last fight, I lost my last fight, it only makes sense. It’d be at 155 and being a huge Clay Guida fan, I think there is no bigger form of respect I guess than to call out one of your favourite fighters of all-time.”
Jaynes repeated that both Guida and he lost their last fights, and wanted to slug it out at 155. He added that he would become a fanboy at the weigh-ins and take photos with Guida.
He also claimed that fighting Guida would be a staple in his career. Jaynes added that Guida is a legend and deserved to be in the Hall of Fame, even though he never won a title.
Jaynes also spoke about possibly facing Tucker again in the UFC. The 31-year-old got a couple of good hits early on but he lost gas during the final round of the clash.
This allowed Tucker to lock in a rear-naked choke for the win. However, Jaynes is open to a rematch but only after getting a few wins under his belt:
“A couple of small adjustments that I have to work on. If I get two-three wins in a row, you bet your a** I am calling out Gavin Tucker for a rematch.”
The 31-year-old also highlighted that he over-trained for his last clash and the weight cut also took a toll on the day of the fight.
