Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje meet for the undisputed UFC Lightweight title and Khama Worthy shared his prediction
UFC rising star Khama Worthy made another appearance on the Blood, Sweat and Tears podcast as he was interviewed by Jer Wilson.
The Deathstar is coming off an impressive win over Luis Pena and has won his last seven fights. While Worthy was ready to take on all comers and was training hard, he gave his thoughts on some big fights in the coming months.
Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje meet at UFC 254 and this could be a fight for the ages. Gaethje is the interim UFC Lightweight champion while Khabib holds the main title for now. A title unification clash will take place soon, and Worthy didn’t know who was going to win it all.
However, he believed that the loss of a family member could be a factor in all this:
“Again, at first I had Gaethje, I thought his wrestling could stop it. But more and more I think about it, I don’t know how Khabib comes back from the death of his father.
“What does that do to you? How does that change you? I don’t know. Just who shows up at what time to do whatever.”
Khabib lost his father, Abdulmanap, a couple of months back, and this would be a big obstacle to overcome.
Abdulmanap accompanied Khabib to several fights and this would be his first without his father.
Worthy also wasn’t sure about another big fight and who would win. Israel Adesanya defends his UFC Middleweight title against Paulo Costa at UFC 253 and that should be another cracker.
“I am going back and forth on this one. At first, I thought Izzy had it for sure, but now it is like back and forth.
“I have no idea who is going to take that one.”
Worthy also wanted Tyron Woodley to get one over Colby Covington, while he back the Korean Zombie, Chang Sung Jung, to defeat Brian Ortega too.
