Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran has worked with the best MMA and boxers over the years
Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran was latest guest on the WERMMA podcast and he had several stories to tell.
The 68-year-old cutman has worked with some of the best in the fighting game and continues to do so.
It was expected that Duran would have some incredible tales to tell and he covered everyone from Tyson Fury to Conor McGregor to the Klitschko brothers.
Duran also appeared in a few Rocky movies and he was asked about his greatest MMA and boxing moment.
“Too many man. I will give you one for MMA and one for Boxing.
“With Boxing, working with Tyson Fury was awesome but the fight before that, Vladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua, Wembley Stadium.”
Duran added that he spoke with Vladimir before the fight and to calm his nerves during the weigh-in, he told him he back his back and called him his son.
The fight took place in front of close to 90,000 people and there was a touching moment between the two:
“I am putting the final Vaseline on Vladimir before Michael Buffer makes the announcements.”
As Vladimir was setting up, he went on to tell Duran:
“You can call me son.”
Duran claimed he took away all the nerves from Klitschko and that was a great moment for him.

The other story was from an MMA fight between two of the best in the world. The clash between Wanderlei Silva and Chuck Liddell took place on a special day:
“MMA? Wanderlei Silva vs Chuck Liddell. Never forget that fight. That was December the 29th, I know because that was my birthday.
“I worked with Chuck in the corner.”
However, Duran added that he had worked the Brazilians in their gym too. He was able to check up on Silva and in between getting his cuts and bruises looked into, he wished Duran on his birthday.
The cutman claimed it was special to get wished, especially in the heat of the fight.
