Dan Ige wasn’t ruling out a UFC return for Henry Cejudo in the future

Dan Ige was the latest guest to feature on the Schmozone podcast, and it was his first in-studio appearance too.

The 29-year-old was coming off a tough loss against Calvin Kattar at Fight Island but shared some UFC predictions during the interview.

Ige believed that Khabib Nurmagomedov could overcome the loss of his father as he took on Justin Gaethje at UFC 254.

The 29-year-old, however, wasn’t certain who would win that battle and added that this would be an exciting fight.

Ige was also asked about Henry Cejudo. Triple C shocked the UFC world by retiring after defeating Dominick Cruz and Ige claimed the former Olympic gold medallist wasn’t completely done with the UFC:

“Henry’s the best at keeping himself relevant without fighting. He’s very creative in that sense and articulate and keeping himself relevant.

“Money talks. If the right money was there with the right opportunity, you know he’s young, he’s healthy and he’s an athlete.”

Ige believed that Cejudo wanted to fight Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and could take him on easily.

Defeating Volkanovski for the belt would make Cejudo a three-division champion and the first one to do it. However, there hasn’t been any talks of Triple C making a UFC return as of yet.

Costa vs Adesanya

Israel Adesanya vs Paulo Costa is another big fight set for the UFC. Adesanya and Costa are both undefeated in their MMA careers and the pair are to meet for the Middleweight title.

Adesanya, the champion, has been on a tear since moving into MMA but he might have met his match in Costa.

Ige claimed that both Costa and Adesanya were great in the ring, and he couldn’t decide who was going to win.

However, he did say that this would be another incredible fight. Costa and Adesanya have shared a lot of words on social media but they will get their hands on each other at UFC 253.
