Tom Aspinall got the world talking after his UFC debut last month
British UFC star Tom Aspinall was on WERMMA as he spoke about his incredible debut.
The 27-year-old Heavyweight was up against Jake Collier and knocked out his rival in 45 seconds.
This was his first UFC fight and that caught the attention of many around the world. The 27-year-old is on a four-fight win streak at the moment and claimed that he didn’t feel different inside the UFC Octagon for the first time but the lack of fans at Fight Island was something new.
While the 27-year-old has a long future ahead of him, he was asked if there was any UFC fighter, past or present, he wanted to take on.
Aspinall named a former Heavyweight champion and explained why he wanted to go up against him too:
“I think Brock Lesnar. I was a massive WWE fan, a bit old for it now but when he was fighting, he was massive and crushing people and I wanted to see how my skill would match up to people with someone who is just massive and trying to crush me.”
Aspinall added that he wanted to test himself against someone like Lesnar and how he would do against him too.
However, that is unlikely to happen as Lesnar is back with WWE and has won the WWE title in the past.
Ready to take on anyone
While Aspinall spoke about a rival or two he wanted to fight, he was asked if he had any other fighters on his mind.
However, the 27-year-old put the entire division on notice and added he has a long career ahead of him:
“I have got my eye on the whole division. I have another 10 years at this so I want to fight everyone. It’s all got to be at the right time, I mean, a lot of fighters trying to jump around too quick, I’m not trying to do that.
“Am just trying to fight, enjoy myself. I am not trying to make any big shakes just yet. I want to learn my craft and just take my time with it and enjoy it.”
Aspinall confirmed that he was set for another fight soon. However, the British star didn’t give away who his next opponent could be.
The heavyweight also highlighted that he hasn’t received his UFC $50,000 bonus yet but had some great plans for the money.
Instead of spending it on flashy cars or watches, he was going to save up and buy the house he had been renting for a while.
The 27-year-old certainly made a mark on his first UFC outing, and it will be interesting to see what is next for him.
