Brok Weaver called out another rising UFC star in Khama Worthy

UFC Lightweight star Brok Weaver is currently 1-1 in his career with the promotion but is looking for his next win.

The 28-year-old lost his last fight to Roosevelt Roberts but his win over Rodrigo Vargas came via a DQ. Weaver was speaking exclusively to MMA Unhinged as he wanted to get a real win under his belt and get his arm raised.

While he is working hard with ATT, he spoke about who his next opponent could be. Weaver was coming off a tough weight-cut in his last clash but highlighted he would be ready by August/September.

He also called out another rising UFC star in Khama Worthy and praised Death Star for how he has looked in the promotion:

“I have had somebody call me out a couple of times and he fought one of my new teammates the other night, Khama Worthy.

“He has been calling me out since the Contender, been trying to tell the manager I wanted that fight and I guess he wasn’t interested but maybe now, since Khama has beat one of our guys, he looked pretty good, he looked sharp. So, yeah, I would like to fight Khama Worthy.”

Worthy is the worthy favourite

Worthy last faced Luis Pena at Fight Night: Poirier vs Hooker and beat him via submission. The Death Star is on a seven-fight win-streak and has won all four of his UFC clashes too. Weaver was asked who would be the underdog for this clash, and he recognised that Worthy would be the favourite for the clash:

“I would be the underdog now because I am 0-2, my hypes gone, I haven’t shown up since the Contender.”

However, Weaver added that he always fights better when he is the underdog and claimed he had gotten comfortable after getting his UFC deal.

The 28-year-old also added that he had two more fights left in his current deal and the pressure was on him to get that new deal.
