MMA presenter, commentator and fighter Vanessa Campos wants to have a body like Joanna Jedrzejczyk
Vanessa Campos was the latest guest on the WERMMA podcast. The MMA personality has travelled all across the world and has interviewed some of the biggest names from the promotion too.
Campos also has a couple of fights under her belt but she is best known for her commentary work in Greece and also interviewing some of the best MMA stars.
Campos moved from the Philippines to the United Kingdom and also moved to Canada later on. However, MMA has always been a way of life for her. She got into MMA to learn self-defence but that has transitioned into a media career for her.
One of her biggest moments came when she interviewed MMA legend Royce Gracie and she also spoke about meeting Conor McGregor.
Campos has trained at the world-famous SBG and shared a bit of a hilarious first meeting with the Notorious One.
“I started my first mic gig as a ring announcer in coach Kavanagh’s Wimp 2 Warrior show, where I first met Conor McGregor.
“I didn’t know it was Conor, he was coming through and I was so scared. I knew he was a big personality but I didn’t know it was him.”
Campos added that this was also the greatest moment in her MMA career and it turned out to be a bit of a fangirl moment too:
“It was meeting Conor, for sure, in the cage when I was doing ring announcement. That was my favourite moment cause I didn’t know it was him and he was so cool.”
While meeting McGregor would be an amazing moment for any MMA fan, Campos added that she looked up to several female stars too.
Although Campos added that she still trains and has fought in her career, she still looked up to one of the best ever.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk is one of the greatest MMA stars of all-time and a former UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion too.
Campos was asked who he favourite fighters were, and she named quite a few:
“Joanna is so cool, I want to get as ripped as her as well, so she’s body goals for me. Zhang Weili is amazing, Rose Namajunas, it’s just so many.
“On the male fighting side Royce Gracie, of course.”
She couldn’t add more names for the male fighters as she found it difficult to relate to them when compared to the female stars.
Campos loved Darren Till’s memes and found him incredibly entertaining. The MMA personality added that her greatest interview was that of Gracie’s and had learned a lot from the legend.
