Like many stars, De Jesus was also a victim of bullying and that was why he got into MMA. The 30-year-old also spoke about his father being a boxer and that got him started:

“My father actually put me in this world. I joined martial arts because of bullying in school. That is how everything started.

“My father used to be an amateur boxer. So to take me out of the bullies of school and the problems, he drive me to his friend’s gym of Jiu Jitsu.”

De Jesus added that he learned Jiu Jitsu and boxing since he was 12, and also Capoeira and was always in this environment.
