Extreme Rules 2020 Results and Grades: The Horror Show at WWE Extreme Rules featured a Swamp Fight between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman but there were other big clashes too.
Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio met in an Eye for an Eye match. The other big fight was Drew McIntyre vs Dolph Ziggler with Ziggler picking his stipulation.
There was a lot of controversy in the clash between Asuka and Sasha Banks and here are the results and grades from Extreme Rules 2020.
Owens vs Murphy
The kickoff started with Kevin Owens facing off against Murphy. There has been a rivalry during the set up for Mysterio vs Rollins, and this was a great back and forth match.
The pair traded blows and it was Owens who picked up the win. This clash confirmed a few hours before the PPV, and even though it was put together at the last minute, it was a great clash.
Owens beats Murphy
Grade B
Owens vs Murphy was a decent enough clash as both stars put in their best. It would have been better if the others in the storyline were involved but this was still a good start.
SmackDown tag team title match
Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro got a shot at the tag titles in a table match. Big E and Kofi Kingston came out as the champions and they started off the brightest taking out their opponents.
The challengers then isolated each star and tried to take advantage. In the end, it was Cesaro who got the win as he sent Kingston through a pile of tables.

Cesaro and Nakamura beat New Day
Grade B
This was another good match as both teams did their bit. There should have been more of storyline ahead of this clash but it delivered.
Nakamura and Cesaro are two top stars, and they deserve a title and a proper feud.
Bayley vs Cross
Bayley came out as the SmackDown women’s champion taking on Nikki Cross. Sasha Banks was at Bayley’s side while Cross had Alexa Bliss.

Cross started off really well and also picked up the title after a flurry of moves. However, Bayley came roaring back but could not take out her opponent with a Belly to Belly suplex.
Banks then helped her friend by giving her the Boss ring, and she used that to get the win.
Bayley beats Cross
Grade B
Bayley’s frustrations during the clash were there for all to see, and it was a great bit of storytelling. She needed to cheat to win and it will be interesting to see what happens next as she kept her title.
New US champion?
Apollo Crews could not compete in the US title match as the champion failed to pass a medical. His challenge, MVP came out with Bobby Lashley and declared himself as the new champion.
Does this make @The305MVP your rightful #USChampion?#ExtremeRules @fightbobby pic.twitter.com/20D8zAnHoF

Grade D
This section didn’t make sense at all. If Crews is injured, then they could have put on a replacement. They didn’t need to put the titles on the line. It also begs the question if Crews has caught Covid-19 or not.
Rollins vs Mysterio
This Eye for an Eye match needed one star to take out (extract) the other’s eyes to win the clash. Rollins started off by targeting Mysterio’s eye right from the bell.
The former champion used several weapons in hopes of getting the win but just wasn’t able to get it done.

Mysterio then took control of the clash and even tried to injury Rollins’ eye. However, it was Rollins who won as he smashed Mysterio’s eyes into the steps and vomited later on.
Rollins beats Mysterio
Grade B
The match was good enough, even though it had a crazy stipulation. Nevertheless, it didn’t feature CGI as many predicted and looked good.
However, it is questionable why Rollins was sickened by the way he won the clash.
Asuka vs Banks
The Raw Women’s Championship was also on the line as Asuka faced off against Banks.
It was the Boss who tried to get a quick win but Asuka stayed in the clash. The champion then mounted an offence before Banks hit a Bank Statement and transitioned into a submission.
Bayley and Kairi Sane were also at ring side and the Role Model tried to distract Asuka a lot. However, she just couldn’t get it done with Sane watching.
The match ended in chaos as Asuka hit the green mist on the referee by mistake. This allowed Banks to hit Asuka with the title and Bayley became the referee and did a quick three count for the win.
Did #BayleyDosStraps just declare @SashaBanksWWE #2BeltzBanks?
Can she even do that?!#ExtremeRules @itsBayleyWWE pic.twitter.com/tPHQejXA6d

Banks defeats Asuka?
Grade B
The only reason the grade got a B was because of the finish. This made no sense as to how Bayley could suddenly declare Banks as the champion. The match was excellent and was worthy of an A but why would WWE want such a weird finish?
Ziggler vs McIntyre
Before the match started, Ziggler shared the stipulation for the clash. He declared that he could use weapons while McIntyre could not. Further, The champion could also lose the title via DQ or count out.

Ziggler used a lot of smart moves and tried to get McIntyre counted out. He used tables, low blows and even steel chairs but McIntyre kept coming back and beating the count.

McIntyre also had some great moves in the match and kicked out of all of Ziggler’s finishers. In the end, it was McIntyre who won after delivering a Claymore.
McIntyre beats Ziggler
Grade A
This was an excellent clash as Ziggler used his brains to try and get the win. It would have been better if a better stipulation was used. However, the performance proved that McIntyre can overcome the odds and is a great champion.
Strowman vs Wyatt
This was another one of those pre-taped storyline matches as Strowman reached the swamp.
Strowman was subjected to a beating before Alexa Bliss came out as Sister Abigail and tempted the champion.
However, he attacked Wyatt and sent him away on a boat. Wyatt then returned and beat the life out of Strowman and admonished him for making him do the deed.
Strowman then returned and kicked Wyatt into the swamp. However, Wyatt came out and hit a mandible claw to drag Strowman down before the Fiend came out and the show ended with laughter.
They won't ever the same after this.#ExtremeRules #SwampFight @BraunStrowman @WWEBrayWyatt pic.twitter.com/KzON9h22Hs
— WWE Universe (@WWEUniverse) July 20, 2020
Grade A
While no one might have won this clash, this was another brilliant cinematic match that WWE pulled off. They did this extremely well at WrestleMania, and have hit the ball out of the park again at Extreme Rules 2020.
