The eagerly awaited Belgian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from the 28th to the 30th of July at the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps Circuit.

Tickets for the Grand Prix weekend are quickly selling out, signaling the expectation of a remarkable event. It’s worth noting that this year marks the 79th edition of this iconic and historically significant Grand Prix. Here’s everything you need to know about the venue.

Belgian GP

Spa-Francorchamps is one of the most historic and challenging tracks in the world, famous for its high-speed corners, elevation changes, and unpredictable weather conditions. The track’s length has varied over the years due to modifications, but it is approximately 7.004 kilometers (4.352 miles) in its current configuration.

The circuit is characterized by several iconic corners that test the drivers’ skills and bravery. Some of the most famous corners include Eau Rouge, Raidillon, Les Combes, Pouhon, Blanchimont, and the Bus Stop Chicane.

Where do things stand ahead of this weekend’s Belgian GP?

Max Verstappen’s victory in Hungary last week has significantly contributed to Red Bull’s dominant performance in the drivers’ championship standings. The team has had an outstanding start to the season, achieving 1-2 finishes in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Miami, and Azerbaijan, as well as securing top positions on the podium in seven consecutive races.

Currently, Verstappen leads the standings with an impressive 281 points, while his teammate Sergio Perez holds the second position with 171 points. Behind them, Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso occupies the third spot with 139 points, placing him ahead of Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, and Carlos Sainz.

The leaderboard in the constructors’ championship reflects a similar pattern. Red Bull, the reigning champions, have established a substantial lead, amassing an impressive 452 points as we approach the summer break. Mercedes trails far behind in second place, having secured 223 points. Aston Martin holds the third position on the leaderboard with 184 points, which is a considerable margin of 268 points behind the leaders. Ferrari follows closely in the fourth spot, having accumulated 167 points.
