Formula 1 excitement shifts to Japan this weekend, following the captivating Singapore GP. The Japanese Grand Prix, inaugurated in 1963, is celebrating its 50th edition. Throughout its history, this race has often played a pivotal role in determining the World Drivers’ Champions, witnessing 12 title crowning moments over the 35 times it has been part of the World Championship. The upcoming Japanese GP is set to occur from October 22nd to 24th at the renowned Suzuka Circuit.
Suzuka Circuit, a historic venue in the Formula One World Championship, has been a fixture on the Japanese Grand Prix calendar since 1987. Situated in Ino, Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, this track stretches over 5.807 kilometers. From 2009 onward, it consistently hosted the Japanese Grand Prix, with the exception of 2020 and 2021 when the races were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It holds an FIA Grade I license and can accommodate a crowd of up to 155,000 spectators.
Michael Schumacher holds the record as the most successful driver in the history of the Japanese Grand Prix, clinching victory six times.
Among the current grid of Formula 1 drivers, Lewis Hamilton boasts five wins, making him the most successful active participant at this event. Fernando Alonso has also tasted success at the Japanese GP, securing victory twice in 2006 and 2008. In the most recent edition held in 2022, Max Verstappen celebrated a first-place finish, with Perez and Leclerc joining him on the podium.

Given Max Verstappen’s impressive recent form, there is a strong likelihood that he will continue to excel and make significant strides towards the championship.
