F1 action will resume at the Baku City Circuit for the Azerbaijan GP on April 30 after a short break

Formula One is currently in the middle of a short break and there will be a pause in action until the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on April 30. After three enthralling races in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia, this short break is a great opportunity for all the teams to work on their existing issues and improve their showing in the upcoming races.

The action will resume on April 30 at the Baku City Circuit for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Azerbaijan GP will also host the first Sprint Race event of the 2023 season.

F1 drivers are enjoying the break while the technical staff have the task of addressing all the issues that affected the respective teams in the first races of the season before heading to Baku.

The 2023 Azerbaijan GP will take place at the Baku City Circuit – giving fans a view of modern architecture as well as historic buildings around the capital city of Azerbaijan. The circuit is an FIA Grade 1 licensed circuit and spans over a total length of 6 km including 20 turns and has a capacity of 18,500. The inaugural edition of this F1 Grand Prix was held back in 2017 and this is set to be the sixth edition.

The Baku City Circuit is the third longest track on the F1 calendar. Interestingly, the Grand Prix hasn’t seen a repeat winner since its inaugural edition in 2017. In the previous edition, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen finished on top of the podium. Sergio Perez (2021), Valtteri Bottas (2019), Lewis Hamilton (2018) and Daniel Ricciardo (2017) are the winners of the earlier editions.
