How is the weather looking ahead of the 2021 Russian GP?

It has just been reported that it rained in Sochi this morning where the race is scheduled, Sochi Autodrom. It also comes in as a bad news for all the fans around the world. Though rain is expected to get lighter as the day continues there is no certainty on whether rain will delay the last practice and qualifying or not.

Andrew Benson a F1 journalist reported this on his Twitter:

It seems like a very tricky situation currently, there is nothing to be said as of now with full accuracy. As it is reported, Light will also play a major factor in determining what needs to be done.

If both rain and light cause a problem for today’s qualifying then we can expect the qualifying to be held on Sunday morning. It seems more than likely that we might miss some Formula One action today. On the other hand the fans will be hopeful that the weather gets better on Sunday and we don’t miss the race everyone has been waiting for.

Was the Sochi Autodrom flooded recently?

It was also reported just a few days ago that the Socho Autodrom has been flooded. A continuation of bad weather also caused the venue to filled with water. It had casted some doubt already ahead of the F1 weekend and now we are seeing it’s consequences.

The current weather at Sochi does not seem to have gotten better.
