Chinese GP might be thrown out of the F1 2022 calendar with more races featuring in the schedule
Recent reports suggests that the Chinese Grand Prix could be on the verge of being nixed out of the F1 2022 calendar. The race was last held in Shanghai back in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic and has missed out on the last two season. It’s absence looks set to continue for the next season season as well.
The Chinese GP will most likely be replaced by Emilia Romagana GP at Imola on 24th April 2022. The decision has been made keeping the health and safety in mind. Moreover, the travel restrictions are also a headache at the moment. So as of now this move seems to be the best for all parties involved in the Formula One including the fans.
Will races in Australia, Canada and Japan return for the next season?
Formula One fans from Australia, Canada and Japan can certainly breathe a sigh of relief. The races will most definitely return to the calendar next year. Along with China, Australia, Canada and Japan have also missed out on the past two seasons.
The recent Turkish GP was supposed to be the Japan GP but had it had to be cancelled. The current situation is much better around the world and the fans from these countries would certainly be pleased to know that they can finally witness Formula One action after two years of absence.
The 2022 Formula One season will start on 20th March with the Bahrain GP and will end on 20th November with the Abu Dhabi GP. The season will end earlier than usual because of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
