F1 races Carlos Sainz has deep admiration for Ken Block, who happens to be one of the most recognised faces in motorsport
Pro Rally driver and co-founder of Hoonigan, Ken Block passed away on January 2, at the age of 55. He was killed in a freak snowmobile accident in Woodland, Utah, United States. Block was riding his snowmobile on a steep slope in the Mill Hollow area in Woodland when it upended and landed on top of him and unfortunately, he was dead at the scene.
The motorsport community is in deep shock after this tragic loss. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz took to Twitter to pay his homage to the departed soul. “Rest in peace Ken Block a true legend of the sport, all my thoughts with his family and friends”, he wrote.
Block is one of the most well-known personalities in motor racing. During his career, he has competed in many action sports events, including skateboarding, snowboarding, and motocross. Block leaves behind his wife and three children.
