Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda have just been confirmed AlphaTauri drivers for the 2022 season
The AlphaTauri F1 team have confirmed that they will retain their young driver line up for 2022 season. The sister team of Redbull F1 took to twitter to break the news that they will retain both Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda for the 2022 season.
Pierre Gasly has been very impressive ever since he was released from RedBull F1 in the middle of 2019 season. He was sent back to AlphaTauri and has been performing impressively ever since.
In the 2021 season Gasly is currently 8th in the racers standings with 66 points in the bag. His teammate Yuki Tsunoda stands at 13th position with 18 points.
How did Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda react?
This is what Yuki Tsunoda had to say on being retained (h/t Alphatauri):
“I’m really excited to be staying with Scuderia AlphaTauri for a second season. It’s an incredible opportunity. I’m so thankful to the team!'”
Yuki has shown impressive speed in the 2021 season. Being only in his first year in Formula one the youngster looks to be promising.

“I am very happy to be moving forward with Scuderia AlphaTauri for another season in Formula 1. Especially after seeing the progress that we’ve made as a team since I first joined in 2017.”
Pierre Gasly looks to be very optimistic as he claims greater things are yet to come. Pierre after his demotion from RedBull has silenced many critics and looks to be improving with each race.
AlphaTauri have shown immense trust in the drivers. They will look to produce phenomenal results in the coming 2022 season and also the remaining 2021 season. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for these young drivers.
