Frederic Vasseur will officially replace Mattia Binotto as the Team Principal of Ferrari F1 team

Frederic Vasseur has officially left Alfa Romeo to join Ferrari F1 team as the Team Principal. He will replace former Ferrari boss, Mattia Binotto, who announced his resignation from the post last month. Vasseur leaves Alfa Romeo after six successful seasons in charge of the team.

Ferrari’s official handle announced the news on Twitter, along with a quote by Vasseur in the caption. “The new @ScuderiaFerrari team principal. “Ferrari has always represented the very pinnacle of the racing world to me”, the announcement reads. Vasseur is understandably delighted to have joined Ferrari in this new role and he said: “I am truly delighted and honoured to take over the leadership of Scuderia Ferrari as Team Principal.”

Vasseur’s journey in F1 began in 2016, when he joined Renault Sport as team principal of the newly formed Renault Sport Formula One Team during the 2016 Formula One season. However, he resigned at the end of the season and joined Sauber F1 team as Managing Director and CEO in 2017. He had a pretty successful reign in charge of Alfa Romeo, and this marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Frenchman.
