The shooting for the F1-based move starring Brad Pitt and Lewis Hamilton will begin in 2023
F1 2023 is set to reach new heights with the shooting for Brad Pitt’s new F1 movie expected to take place on race weekends. Directed by Joseph Kosinski and starring Brad Pitt, the movie will also feature seven-time Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton. Earlier at the US Grand Prix, Pitt and the team met all ten team bosses and Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali to discuss the plans.
The plot of the movie revolves around Brad Pitt, who plays the role of a former Formula 1 driver, coming out of retirement to join his rookie teammate in the battle against the titans of the sport. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has revealed that the movie will start shooting on race weekends in the second half of 2023. Domenicali added that all teams and drivers will be involved in the project, which will feature real cars and their sponsors.
The filmmakers view the production of their movie as the racing equivalent of Bruckheimer’s hugely popular Top Gun: Maverick. Lewis Hamilton will act as an adviser to the Hollywood film. The Mercedes driver will help to keep the production on track, while all other drivers will be invited to be a part of the movie.
Lewis Hamilton had to turn down an offer from good friend, Tom Cruise to feature as a fighter pilot in the hit movie “Top Gun: Maverick” because of his F1 commitments. Tom Cruise and Lewis Hamilton are good friends but the Mercedes driver’s schedule prevented them from linking up in Top Gun. The seven-time world champion revealed he had been thrilled at the prospect of a part, having been a huge fan of the original 1986 “Top Gun” movie.
Offered a part as a fighter pilot, Hamilton realized there would not be enough time to fit it in alongside his meticulous preparation for races. “I’m a perfectionist,” he said. “There just wasn’t time.” However, Hamilton didn’t waste any time giving his approval for this upcoming F1-based movie and is looking forward to playing his part in making this movie a huge success.
