F1 star Carlos Sainz and Marc Marquez of MotoGP fame witnessed their country qualify for the knock-outs despite losing to Japan
Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz was all decked up in the Spanish National Team jersey as his country geared up for a vital group stage clash last night. MotoGP rider Marc Marquez was there to give company to Sainz as both Spaniards witnessed their team succumb to a 1-2 loss against Japan. However, Spain did qualify for the knockouts on the virtue of a better goal difference over Germany and will face Morocco in the Round of 16.
Sainz took to Twitter to share the picture of him rooting for Spain along with Marquez. In the picture, both can be seen sporting Spain’s national football team’s jersey and Sainz captioned the picture: “World Cup afternoon with @marcmarquez. Let’s go, Spain.” Marquez, who drives for the Repsol Honda team in MotoGP, is one of the brightest talents in motorsport, coming out of Spain besides Carlos Sainz.
