Carlos Sainz had something to say for Lando Norris’ pole
Scuderia Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has took to twitter to praise Lando Norris. Norris booked his first pole ahead of the Russian GP this sunday. Sainz said:
‘Front row is great and I’m very happy, though I’d have preferred to keep Pole! It was very tricky out there, but I really enjoyed that last attempt on slicks. Tomorrow should be dry and we’ll give it all! Congrats to Lando on his first Pole”
Sainz himself had a qualifying to remember as he starts second on the grid. The Ferrari driver mentions how tricky qualifying it was because of the weather and hopes the race day is dry. Towards the end Sainz congratulated Norris who booked his first ever pole.
McLaren are having a time to remember as in the last GP at Monza the team started from pole through Daniel Ricciardo who won the race. Now, Norris will start the race at pole.
What to expect from the Russian GP?
Russian GP promises to be filled with drama from start to finish. The current Driver’s Championship leader Max Verstappen starts from the bottom of the grid whereas his rival Lewis Hamilton will start fourth.
The front three is booked by Norris, Sainz and George Russell respectively. Moreover, the weather can play an important role as it was pouring down just a day ago. Though Hamilton will push for the win to get back to top of the Driver’s Championship it won’t be an easy task.
With McLaren winning last week and securing pole this week, we can expect another upset on the card.
