Daniel Ricciardo satisfied with McLaren’s ‘flawless’ pre-season

Ricciardo, Lando Norris and the McLaren team completed their first pre-season running in Barcelona

Daniel Ricciardo is happy with his team’s test running sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona. McLaren were on of the stand out teams in this pre-season running besides Mercedes and Ferrari. While most other teams have struggled with their new cars, McLaren have started off pre season without a hitch. Ricciardo and Norris will be driving the new MCL36 F1 2022 generation car this season for McLaren.

Speaking on the pre-season campaign so far, Ricciardo said, “I think we are in a good spot but there’s always something to work on and improve. So we’ll give the team some data to work with and some areas of work to do. I’ll focus on what I can keep doing better.” The Australian further added, “Overall a pretty flawless three days for the team, a really awesome start to the season. Thanks to everyone back at the factory for putting in the hard work over the winter to put us in this position.”

What’s in store for McLaren this season?

McLaren look one of the strongest teams this season. The team’s new MCL36 car looks in good shape as evident in pre-season running. The UK-based team have a strong drivers’ line up in Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris. Norris was one of the most impressive drivers in the sessions in Barcelona. Ricciardo and Norris completed a solid 365 laps in Barcelona which puts them third in the mileage charts.

McLaren will be hoping things improve even more from here on. The team finished in 4th spot, earning 275 points in the 2021 Formula One World Championship. The team will definitely look to better their result from last year. If the pre season running is anything by, they look set to do it.

All the teams set out for Bahrain for the next official pre-season test beginning on March 10. The 2022 Formula One World Championship will commence with the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 20.
