The historic Emilia Romagna Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on 24th April at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit

After three enthralling races in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Melbourne, the F1 action moves to Italy for the first race in Europe this season. The historical Imola circuit will host the Emilia Romagno Grand Prix on 24th April. Imola has recently extend its hosting rights and will be on the F1 calendar atleast till 2025. Imola’s first F1 event was the Italian Grand Prix in 1980 and then became the venue of San Marino Grand Prix from 1981-2006. The circuit made a return to F1 as the venue for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in 2020.

This is a definitely a tough race to call or predict. Ferrari will definitely be excited at the prospect of racing on home turf with the added boost of sitting on top of both the Constructors’ and Drivers’ Championship. Both Ferrari drivers are expected to well and we predicted a podium finish for both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Max Verstappen is racing really well but has been unlucky on a couple of occasions this season. We predict a strong comeback from Verstappen after his DNF in Melbourne. Lewis Hamilton is getting back into the groove and is Mercedes team-mate George Russell has been very impressive so far this season.

Lando Norris is another driver we should watch out for in Italy. A third win of the season for Leclerc followed by Verstappen and Sainz in second place and third place respectively with Hamilton, Russel,l and Norris rounding off the top 6 is our early prediction of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix!

Where do things stand after the Australian Grand Prix?

The results at the Australian Grand Prix have caused a number of changes in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championship Leaderboard.

After the race win in Melbourne, Ferrari further increases their lead with 104 points in their kitty ahead of Mercedes (65) and Red Bull (55). Leclerc gains 26 points from the race and cements his place at the top of the drivers’ championship leaderboard with a tally of 71 points. A second-place finish for Sergio Perez and a DNF for Max Verstappen means Perez leaps above his Red Bull team-mate to take fourth place in the standings. Mercedes’ George Russell is in the second spot with 37 points followed by Carlos Sainz (33).

Down the table, a first point for Williams means they move away from the bottom spot to take 9th place. Aston Martin have failed to register a single point so far and are placed bottom of the Constructors’ leaderboard. In the drivers’ championship, a point for Alex Albon means he moves up to 16th, ahead of the bottom pack of Mick Schumacher, Lance Stroll, Sebastian Vettel and Nicholas Latifi – all of whom are on 0 points.
