Red Bull have completely dominated F1 this season and won both drivers’ and Constructors’ championship
Former Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg believes that Red Bull will continue to be unstoppable even in 2023. The German stated that Mercedes and Ferrari will find it very difficult to challenge next season and compared Red Bull’s current streak to Mercedes’ domination in the past years. After securing the double this season, Red Bull now has five Constructors’ championships and six Drivers’ championship titles in their bag.
Nico Rosberg shared his take on Red Bull’s domination this season and made a bold prediction ahead of new season. “Securing that constructors’ championship as well so early, also having such a dominant team in every area at the moment. It’s definitely in a period now where it’s going to be so difficult for any other team to come close again, even next year, the way it’s going at the moment because they have such momentum”, Rosberg told reporters. He further added, “It’s going to be really tough for Ferrari, or even Mercedes to get closer.”
Rival teams have accused Red Bull of “cheating” and fans kind of echoed that sentiment on Twitter. Let us take a look at few of the responses from fans.
“I hope we get a close season. Domination is boring”, wrote a fan.
“I am optimistic for 2023! Let’s not forget Ferrari & RB were nip & tuck in the 1st half of the season until the rule change came in which seems to have hurt Ferrari & slowly brought Mercedes back towards the front! I expect RB to be fastest still but Merc & Ferrari to be closer”, wrote a hopeful fan.
“Yes unfortunately RB are going to dominate for a few years now. Ferrari can get there but still have work, Merc no chance, still way off the pace, only can capitalise on other teams bad luck. McLaren well they will be racing Hass soon. Keep an eye on Williams they will improve”, read another tweet.
“Especially if they are allowed to continue cheating”, tweeted another fan.
“depends on the penalty they receive for cheating. If it’s weak everyone will do the same next year so have a chance of catching up the extra development red bull have got away with. Hopefully it’s what they deserve and limits them for the next few years, but I doubt it”, came another tweet.
