Arthur Leclerc is rumoured to be joining F2 team DAMS in 2023, replacing Roy Nissany
Arthur Leclerc is a Monégasque racing driver and a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy. Arthur is famous for being the younger brother of F1 driver, Charles Leclerc. The 21-year-old has notched up three race wins so far in his brief F3 career.
In July this year, Arthur was in the news after pulling off his first win of the 2022 Formula 3 season, seeing off home favourites Zak O’Sullivan and Ollie Bearman for victory in the Feature Race at Silverstone. The Monegasque picked up PREMA Racing’s first win to bring himself back into Championship contention. He had already passed O’Sullivan but was forced to give back the lead due to the move coming just as the Safety Car was deployed. Leclerc re-passed pole-sitter O’Sullivan shortly afterwards and held off the threats from behind to move up to second in the Drivers’ Championship.
However, he did have some mediocre races after that and finished the season in sixth place.
Arthur Leclerc has driven various racing series across the globe – Formula 4, Formula Regional European Championship, Formula E and Formula 3. Arthur joined Formula 3 in 2021, partnering with Olli Caldwell and Red Bull academy member Dennis Hauger at Prema Racing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. He was retained by Pema for the 2022 season, partnering with fellow Ferrari Driver Academy member Oliver Bearman and another Red Bull academy member Jak Crawford.
In his Formula 3 career so far, Arthur has made 39 starts, registering three wins. He secured pole position on one occasion and finished on the podium five times. Leclerc’s sixth-place finish this season is his best-ever performance in F3.
