F1 2022: Everything you should know about F1 Fantasy

The 2022 F1 World Championship is all set to begin this weekend it’s the last chance for F1 Fanatics to register for the new season of F1 fantasy

A brand new season of F1 fantasy is back and the countdown to the deadline has already begun. Let us take a look at how users can register and play this exclusive fantasy game for Formula 1. The official platform for the game is fantasy.formula1.com. Users have to log in using existing credentials or register a new account in order to get going. You will then have US$ 100m virtual money at your disposal to pick 5 drivers and one constructor. A total of up to three teams can be created.

The most important part is – Remember to lock your teams before qualifying on Saturday evening.

Once the season is underway, you will have the option to make three substitutions ahead of each Grand Prix. You can make these changes to your original team depending upon the form of F1 drivers, availability and various other aspects based on your F1 knowledge.

The additional booster options have been retained this season as well and during the season you can play these three powerups – Turbo Driver, Mega Driver, Wildcards. You can use the ‘streak’ feature with your powerups to double or triple up your bonus.

Once the season is underway, you will have the option to make three substitutions ahead of each Grand Prix. You can make these changes to your original team depending upon the form of F1 drivers, availability and various other aspects based on your F1 knowledge. After you have created your teams, you can join or create leagues and challenge your friends or fellow F1 Fanatics around the world.

What’s new in F1 Fantasy 2022?

There have been few notable changes in the F1 fantasy game this year. The primary change is with regards to scoring. The new pattern of scoring includes the following changes from the previous editions:-

– Points for positions gained or lost are now applied relative to the previous season’s finishing position rather than compared to the starting grid to better account for grid penalties

– Drivers now lose two points per position upto a maximum of 10 points for positions lost, regardless of whether the driver started in the Top 10 or not

– A DNF now loses 10 points

– Fastest lap, not classified and disqualified events are now applied to Constructors’ points totals as well as drivers’ points totals

Besides the scoring changes, driver values have been updated and the game has been changed to reflect the current line-up.
