Alfa Romeo’s Zhou Guanyu endured a terrifying crash in the very first lap of the 2022 British GP – a fan footage of the same looks more horrifying than the crash actually looked
Zhou Guanyu of Alfa Romeo suffered one of the most horrific modern-day crashes in F1. At the very beginning of the 2022 British GP at Silverstone, a multi-car collision saw Zhou’s car get thrown off the track before coming to a halt following a crash on the barrier.
Take a look at the crash below:
A fan footage of the same has been doing the rounds on the Internet – and it looks scarier than the crash actually looked.
The footage was taken from the stands of the very first turn at Silverstone.
Much to everyone’s relief, there was no threat to Zhou’s life.
The F1 world thanked the presence of halo for proving to be a life-saver for Zhou.
It is worth noting that the last fatal crash in F1 took place 8 years ago when Jules Bianchi crashed at Suzuka in Japan. He died a year later in 2015.
