Fans are tipping promising young drivers like Frederik Vesti and Liam Lawson to break into the F1 grid very soon. Regarded as one of the most promising emerging talents in the motorsport arena, Lawson’s potential ascent to Formula 1 remains a topic of speculation, fueled by his consistent achievements in the junior ranks.
At present, he is an active participant in the 2023 Super Formula Championship as a member of Team Mugen. In addition to his commitments in Super Formula, the New Zealand racer holds the position of reserve driver for both the Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri Formula One teams.
Meanwhile, Frederik Vesti is a star in his own rights. Vesti’s affiliation with the Mercedes Junior Team was made official in 2021. In the subsequent year, he represented Mercedes during the 2022 Abu Dhabi young driver test held at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Across the entirety of the event, Vesti managed to cover a total of 124 laps on the track, earning him the 22nd fastest position. Additionally, in a significant milestone, Vesti participated in his inaugural Formula One free practice session at the 2023 Mexico City Grand Prix.
Frederik Vesti embarked on his racing career early in life and rapidly ascended the competitive ladder. He garnered acclaim in youth racing divisions, displaying remarkable skills behind the wheel.
The year 2018 marked Vesti’s introduction to single-seater racing as he entered the ADAC Formula 4 championship. His steady and impressive showings led to three victories and a commendable third-place finish in the final rankings. This achievement not only drew the notice of various teams but also intensified his enthusiasm for the world of motorsport.
As a teenager, Liam Lawson initiated his path in motorsport through karting, where he achieved noteworthy triumphs at both national and international levels. He made the shift to single-seater racing and engaged in prominent series such as the FIA Formula 4 Championship, Toyota Racing Series, and Euroformula Open. Throughout these contests, he showcased his remarkable abilities, securing multiple wins and podium placements. His exceptional talent did not go unnoticed, leading to his recruitment by the renowned Red Bull Junior Team – an esteemed driver development initiative co-founded by Red Bull Racing.
