Formula One driver Fernando Alonso is set to undergo yet another operation
Formula One legend Fernando Alonso had an accident earlier this year where he fell from his bike and broke his jaw. The injury required surgery to be fixed and the doctors had to put metal plates to fix his jaw.
Alonso’s jaw is now fixed and the two time Formula One world champion has now revealed his intentions to get the plates removed. When asked about his plans for the offseason, Alonso revealed (h/t El Mundo Deportivo)
“First I will have the plates removed from my face and my jaw from my bike accident in February and then I’ll have a few weeks to recover.”
As revealed by Alonso, he is planning to get the plates from his jaw and face removed which will require yet another operation. It is expected that he will be able to recover soon after the surgery and will be in time to begin the 2020 Formula One campaign.
How was Fernando Alonso’s 2021 F1 season?
Alonso returned to F1 in 2021 after taking retirement and was able to impress everyone with his comeback. The Spaniard finished the season with 81 points coming in at 10th position.

Alonso also secured a podium at the inaugural Qatar GP. The 40-year-old is set to stay with Alpine for the next season as well. He will hope to improve upon his performances next season. The fans are also eager to see him on the track again as the 2022 season could well be his last.
