Carlos Sainz crashed in the Italian GP second practice and here is the update
All was going well for Scuderia Ferrari this afternoon at Italian GP practice until it wasn’t. Carlos Sainz of Scuderia Ferrari had a huge crash during this afternoon’s final practice before sprint qualifying.
A red flag was immediately brought out and the second half of the practice was also halted.
The crash was of heavy impact for sure as one can tell by the looks of the car. Sainz responded to the radio by saying that he was okay after the crash. Ferrari are allowed to fix the car and change the outer parts. But if the damage is internal and they have to change the parts like the gear box then Sainz will take a grid penalty which will move him further down the grid come race day.
Sainz can race after his medical checkup as he seems to be ok. Now its all upto Ferrari to make his car ready before the sprint qualifying.
Why did Charles Leclerc end his session early?
Leclerc’s practice session was cut short by Ferrari upon his request. Leclerc claimed that he was feeling unwell. He said “I need to stop” and “I cannot explain it here.” Ferrari have not yet confirmed the intensity of the situation.
It is still unknown what happened to Leclerc and whether he will compete in the sprint qualifying or not. Both Ferrari drivers are now in question to be competing in the sprint qualifying.
If both the racers are not able to compete in the sprint qualifying then the Ferrari fans will be disappointed as the drivers will be pushed down the grid come race day.
