The Haas F1 team flaunted their new livery in Bahrain, only a few days Nikita Mazepin was fired.
Haas has been making headlines all week long. The American side has had a tumultuous few weeks but they were delighted to reveal their tweaked car livery ahead of the new season as pre-season testing began on Thursday.
Only last weekend, Haas announced that it had terminated Russian company Uralkali鈥檚 contract and its agreement with driver Nikita Mazepin. Haas had already removed Uralkali’s logo from the car on the final day of pre-season testing in Barcelona.
To make matters even worse for Haas, the team’s freight which was carrying their equipment from the UK to Bahrain was stranded, which delayed the start of their official testing in Bahrain. However, there seemed to be uplifting news on Thursday after the team announced that Kevin Magnussen, who raced for the team from 2017 until 2020, will partner Mick Schumacher on the grid for the upcoming season.
And there was more good news to follow as Haas announced their final design for the 2022 season.
What changes were made to its car?
Haas ensured that they kept their livery plain white on the final day of pre-season testing in Barcelona. But there were a few changes made to the design of the car in Bahrain.
Haas opted to go for a red and white look for its聽2022 car. The Uralkali logo was replaced by Haas branding on the side of the car. Uralkali’s colours on the car were the same as the Russian flag in 2021, but we won’t be seeing them this year.
Reserve driver Pietro Fittipaldi conducted the test drive of the Haas at the Bahrain international circuit. The team was able to get their equipment in order and get their newly-designed car out for the evening session.
