Red Bull are comfortably leading the Constructors’ championship going into this weekend’s US Grand Prix
Red Bull could very well seal the deal this weekend at the Circuit of the Americas. The four-time Constructors’ champions are on the brink of winning their fifth. Here’s a look at the complete scenario of how Red Bull can win the Constructors’ title this weekend itself.
Red Bull will complete the season double this weekend itself if either Max Verstappen or Sergio Perez wins the US Grand Prix. They will win even if both drivers don’t win and finish P3 and P4. If none of these things goes in their favour, Red Bull can still seal the title if they ensure that they aren’t outscored by Ferrari by more than 18 points. Well, the scenario looks totally in favour of Red Bull and it’s a matter of time before they clinch the title.
Red Bull’s domination in F1 over the last twelve years has been mind-boggling. Since 2010, Red Bull has won four Constructors’ championships – 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 this is set to be their fifth title in a short span of time. They have accumulated six drivers’ championships in the same period – 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2021 and most recently 2022.
As things stand ahead of this weekend’s US Grand Prix, the Christian Horner-led team are dominating the drivers’ championship standings after Max Verstappen registered a dominating win in the rain-curtailed Japanese GP. With the win in Japan, Verstappen has already secured his second World Championship title and leads the standings with 366 points followed by team-mate Sergio Perez, who occupies the second spot with 253 points while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc lies in the third spot with 252 points – ahead of George Russell, Carlos Sainz, and Lewis Hamilton.
In the constructors’ championship, they lead the table and are miles ahead of the chasing pack with 619 points. Ferrari are significantly behind in second place with 454 points. Mercedes are further behind – they occupy third place, having earned 387 points. If Red Bull manages to outscore Ferrari by 18 points at the US Grand Prix, they will seal the title this weekend itself.
