Here’s everything you need to know regarding the regulations on consumption of alcohol at the Miami Grand Prix
F1 fans visiting Miami for the Miami GP will be relieved to know that they can consume alcohol while enjoying the action on the track. Alcohol was banned in three races of the season so far – Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan. There are no such restrictions in Miami. While you can certainly enjoy alcohol at the Miami International Autodrome, there are some important regulations and guidelines that the visiting fans need to keep in mind.
Fans who appear to be 30 years of age or younger will be required to provide appropriate identification proof if they intend to purchase or consume alcohol within the circuit premises. Viewers won’t be permitted to possess or purchase more than two alcoholic beverages at a time and alcohol sales will cease thirty minutes before the gates close on each of the three days during the race weekend. While fans can certainly purchase alcohol from outlets within the circuit, they won’t be allowed to bring alcohol from outside or take it outside after the race.
The forecast for the weekend in Miami looks a bit dicey with moderate chances of rainfall. You must be prepared for intervals of rainfall and carry umbrellas or raincoats to protect yourself from showers if you are attending the race. The temperature will be ideal for racing, so that’s not much of a worry. However, cloudy conditions along with scattered showers are predicted and that’s worrying news for teams and fans alike.
Friday is expected to be cloudy and a brief spell of rainfall is expected but practice sessions won’t be affected much according to the forecast as it will only be a passing shower. The qualifying session on Saturday will take place under cloudy conditions but chances of rainfall are less with temperatures hovering around 24-28 degrees Celsius. The main race on Sunday will experience partly cloudy conditions and there is a possibility of rainfall during the race. Although the rain is not a severe threat on race day, conditions might change quickly – fans and teams will have their fingers crossed that rain doesn’t play spoilsport.
