Fernando Alonso secured a P3 finish in Bahrain while Lewis Hamilton had a relatively disappointing outing – they shared a hug later.
Fernando Alonso‘s incredible P3 finish in Bahrain has been the highlight of the opening weekend of the 2023 F1 season. The 41-year-old showed the world that he has still got it in him to challenge the best in the grid and everyone can’t help but admire the Spaniard’s grit and determination. The two-time World Champion joined Aston Martin from Alpine ahead of this season, with an ambition to take the world by storm and the project has certainly got off to an epic start.
However, something which has been the topic of discussion, even more, is that Alonso was spotted sharing a friendly hug with Hamilton after the race. Rumours are often circulated that the two veteran drivers do not share a good relationship with each other but they certainly appear to share a good camaraderie. While Alonso had an incredible result, Mercedes man Hamilton had a disappointing outing by his standards and could only manage a P5 finish.
