Lewis Hamilton backs Max Verstappen to improve further after this season’s title race
This year’s Formula One season is proving to be the one to remember. With only two races to go anything can still happen. The current championship leader Max Verstappen is only eight points ahead of Lewis Hamilton as of now.
The Brit has won the past two races which has helped him shorten the game. While recently speaking to BBC, Hamilton gave props to his title challenger and suggested the Dutch is only going to get stronger.
“I know that he’s a super-fast guy, and he’s going to get stronger and stronger as he matures over time. Which he will no doubt do.”
The seven-time F1 world champion is aware of the fact that Verstappen has age by his side and will only grow stronger as he matures in the sport. The Dutch has managed to raise huge question marks over Hamilton’s 8th world title this season and it is yet to be seen whether he can successfully hold off the Brit from surpassing Michael Schumacher or not.
As one would expect, the title contenders don’t have the prettiest of relationships with each other. However, as far as Hamilton is concerned, the battle stays only on the track. During the same interview, the Brit said:
“I can’t speak for him. I’ve raced against people who’ve shown something on one face but actually it’s something different. I don’t know if that’s the case on the other side.”
While Hamilton is certain he doesn’t hold any bad blood for the Dutch, he accepts the fact that he is unaware of Verstappen’s thoughts.
