Lewis Hamilton, a 7-time champion has denied any plans of quitting
Lewis Hamilton is coming off a 2021 season in which fans around the world believe he was hard done. In the final race of the season at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix he lost his lead in the very last lap to the eventual champion Max Verstappen. Verstappen made a controversial safety car restart which eventually became the deciding factor in both the drivers’ and constructors’ championships.
The British maestro revealed his plans for the upcoming season after the unveiling of Mercedes’ new model, the W13 E Performance racing car for the 2022-23 season. He has denied all rumours of him quitting and aims to come back strong without letting the past events define his career. A legend of the sport, Hamilton said, “Whilst moments like this might define careers, I refuse to let this one define mine.”
Lewis Hamilton clarified that he doesn’t hold any grudges against anyone. “I don’t hold any grudges with anybody. I never think that’s ever a good thing to carry around with you. I moved forward. I don’t dwell on the past. I feel centred and fully focused. I don’t have anything holding me back this year”, the racer said.
The champion racer is excited and raring to try out the new Mercedes W13 car which will be on show this season. The W13 is freshly-designed and only the steering wheel is a carryover from the last model. The new 18-inch wheels have replaced the previous 13-inch rims and are expected to add to the speed and acceleration of the car. With all these changes in place and a super motivated Hamilton, fans can definitely expect some fireworks in this season.
